Here are five simple weight loss tips for you to incorporate into your day.
1. Set your alarm clock 20 minutes earlier than normal. When it goes off get up! Don't hit the snooze button. Get up and get going! Get dressed into your casual gear and go for a 15 minute walk. Take the dog if you have one. Burn a few calories before you start consuming.
2. Have a big breakfast. Make it healthy, porridge or muesli, something with fibre in it. A big breakfast has been proven to help people lose weight because they do not snack so often during the day. In fact I believe breakfast should be the main meal of the day. When you make the evening meal the main meal you have all of that food in your body gathering pounds as you sleep. After breakfast you begin to burn because you are more active during the day than at night (mostly).
3. Depending how you commute to work, park your vehicle further away all of the time not just when there are no closer car parks. If you use public transport walk past your building and then walk back, or take the stairs even if to start just one flight. If you work on the 10th floor take the elevator to the 11th or 12th and walk back down if you do not think you can walk up. Do it and then keep doing it until it becomes a habit. Progressively walk a little more each day. Burn calories faster than you consume. After your walk have a drink of water. Note WATER not coffee.
4. During your work day make and pack your lunch. Use some 100% whole grain bread to make a sandwhich or two. Have some baby carrots, dried fruit, an apple or banana to eat as a snack if you feel hungry. Change some of your habits to healthy ones. It is not that hard. But you have to get into the habit.
5. On your way home, if you have parked the car walk past it or walk around the car park as if you cannot remember where you parked the car, do a bit of activity often and you are continuing to burn calories. Burning more calories than you consume will make you lose weight. If you use public transport, walk around while you wait for the bus or train. Do not sit down, walk around, burn more calories, you do want to lose weight, correct? It is so easy to burn calories you do not have to go to the gym.
6. When you get home do not turn the TV on until 9pm. Cook and then clean up and do any other household chores that you can that you would normally do on the weekend. Now you have more time during the weekend to go for a walk in the park or visit the rose garden. Anything, the art gallery but be active, walk, everything that you do walk a bit further. Lose some weight that is what it is all about. It is easy when you put your mind to it. Just decide that you really want to lose weight.
